How I first heard God in my garden
It all begins with an idea.
My experience began a decade ago on an incredible Summer afternoon, as I sat in the midst of my garden, surrounded by lovely flowers – where butterflies and bees enjoyed themselves even more than I. Suddenly, I was moved by the grandeur of it all. I had mused in this very place many times, but on that day, something stirred inside me.
My soul was lost in reverie and filled with amazement at the splendor.
My heart overflowed with calm awe,
and my eyes were drawn to the beauty of the clear blue sky.
Just gazing at it brought tranquility.
Looking up, I took a deep breath and felt God’s peace in my soul.
With a second breath, the stress of life melted away and gratitude filled my heart.
The moment was so sacred, I sensed there was more.
I wondered if He had a special message for me.
So, I asked, “God, what are you trying to tell me?”
Instantly, I heard His voice speaking to me in the words of Jesus,
“I am with you always” (Mt. 28:20).
Then, I heard these words in my heart:
"I am here with you every day, beneath My endless sky.
I have given you all these things so that you can know Me.
Nature is the revelation of My very self,
and if you look closely enough and listen in the breeze,
I will whisper to you and you will hear My voice."
My heart filled with joy!
He was here. In my garden. With me. In this eternal moment.
I had finally discovered sacred silence
in today’s peaceful blue sky
and the profound stillness for which my soul had longed.
I felt the intimacy of God’s Presence in His mystery of Nature.
I felt His love enfolding me and filling my entire being.
His whisper awakened my soul
and I hurried inside for a notebook and pencil.
I wrote only for myself,
as I had no idea that others might also have spent a lifetime
searching for a simple way to pray
– a conversation with God, Himself:
a two-way conversation, as with a friend.
I first heard Him speak to me on this day,
but I am sure He had whispered in my heart many times before.
I just hadn’t listened.
This time I asked Him a question – and He answered.
I had never asked Him a question before
– taken part in a conversation with Him
– but He waited patiently, until I was ready, and
my life has never been the same.
I returned the next day, and the next, to hear His voice and ask
what He had planned for me – a lesson to learn, an insight to discover,
a kindness to pass on, a blessing for myself, a virtue to live by.
I continued writing down my inspirations from
God the Creator, God the Son, and the Mother of God
in my notebooks – my own peaceful prayer journal.
I assumed others had already found Divine Intimacy
-- a friendship with God --
based on their devout lives, but one day
I began sheepishly sharing my insights with a few friends and,
over time, my circle of readers grew.
I discovered that God had not spoken only to me in my garden,
but also to others longing to hear His voice,
and He, theirs.
To this day, I revisit God in this sacred place
to learn the wisdom of Nature from its very source,
to discover all the truths hidden in Creation,
and to hear the voice of my God, my friend.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
